As a corporate citizen, CDPQ plays an active role in making the community a better place. To do so, we have chosen to support initiatives with a direct impact on future generations, student retention, innovation and Québec’s social economy.
We have four priority sectors
Organizations that encourage student retention and success, promote the social development of young people and fight poverty
Organizations that promote culture in Québec, offer educational programming and encourage appreciation of the arts
Fostering excellence and innovation in scientific research, particularly through support of results-driven research centres
Supporting impactful projects in Québec universities
Our philanthropic actions
We support two major charitable organizations: Centraide (known as the United Way outside Québec) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). We also take part in numerous initiatives and athletic challenges.
CDPQ’s employees and directors also mobilize for a host of individual causes that are dear to them, contributing in various ways:
- by donating their time, notably on boards of not-profit organizations (NPOs)
- by sharing their expertise, including speaking engagements at conferences
- by sponsoring initiatives
- by serving as mentors
- by contributing to giving campaigns

CDPQ recognizes and supports its employees in their community commitments. As such, for each employee who volunteers their time in an organization that meets set criteria, we will donate up to $1,000 directly to that organization.
Donation of computer equipment
When our computer equipment (printers, screens, laptops etc.) must be replaced for business reasons, we work with a number of organizations to donate used equipment that is still in good shape to NPOs lacking the resources to access such technology.
