The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec announces the appointment of Michèle Boisvert as Executive Vice-President, Public Affairs

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec today announced the appointment of Michèle Boisvert as Executive Vice-President, Public Affairs and member of the Executive Committee. Her responsibilities include external and internal communications, government relations and public relations. She will take up her post in September 2012.

“With close to 30 years’ experience as a business journalist, first at Radio-Canada and more recently as director of La Presse Affaires, Ms. Boisvert has a deep knowledge of the business, financial and economic issues that will shape Québec and the world in coming years,” said Michael Sabia, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse.

“She will bring a perspective that will enrich the development and implementation of our strategies. As an outstanding communicator, she will also be able to explain to a broader audience the ongoing changes in the world, and the strategic plan of the Caisse to navigate them. I am very pleased she decided to join our team,” he added.

“I’m honoured to join the Caisse’s executive team. I have always had great regard for this institution, which plays a key role in Québec. As EVP, Public Affairs, I will put my talents at the service of the Caisse to support the execution of its strategic plan at a time where the global economy is undergoing a profound transformation. It’s a very stimulating new challenge,” said Ms. Boisvert.

Biographical notes

As a journalist for almost 30 years, Michèle Boisvert has always been interested in economic issues. First at Radio-Canada where, among other assignments, she worked on Capital Actions, a daily show specialized in economic and financial issues.

She joined La Presse in 2002, where she first covered economic news as a reporter, then as a columnist and as an editorialist. In January 2007, she was named director of La Presse Affaires, the business section. In addition to her role at La Presse, Michèle Boisvert also delivered a daily economic segment on the Radio-Canada morning radio show C’est bien meilleur le matin for seven years.

She also received numerous prizes, including the YWCA’s Woman of Distinction in Communications award in 2009.
