Our investment strategy to address climate change
Our first climate strategy, deployed in 2017, helped position us as a leader in the fight against climate change. We set ambitious targets so we could take quick and structured action. In 2019, we also decided to make a strong commitment: achieve a net-zero portfolio by 2050, with a focus on decarbonizing the real economy.
Since then, we significantly exceeded our intermediary targets, so in 2021 we announced a new and ambitious strategy based on four essential and complementary pillars to meet the major challenges of the transition.
We intend to continue contributing to the decarbonization of the real economy and achieve a carbon-neutral portfolio by 2050.
Our strategy’s four pillars
In low-carbon assets by 2025
Reduction in our portfolio’s carbon intensity by 2030 compared to 2017
Transition envelope to decarbonize major carbon-emitting sectors
Complete our exit from the oil production sector
