
Jean-François Plante
Managing Director, Asset Allocation
Jean-François Plante has been Managing Director, Asset Allocation in the Total Portfolio group since April 2019. He is responsible for ensuring that the consolidated asset allocation activities optimally calibrate the risk-return profile of CDPQ’s total portfolio. In addition to overseeing portfolio rebalancing activities, the team he heads implements relative investment strategies between liquid asset classes and ensures dynamic risk management.
Mr. Plante is a member of the Total Portfolio and Equity Markets Investment Committees as well as the Liquidity and Financing Management Committee. Prior to joining CDPQ in 2002, he worked in asset allocation activities as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Director, Research. From 2002 to 2013, he held various positions in the Research and Investment Policy Advisory team, advancing from interning as an Analyst to Senior Director. He has published, as lead author or in collaboration with his colleagues, multiple research articles in specialized journals.
Mr. Plante holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from HEC Montréal and a Master’s in Management Science with a major in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke. He holds the FRM certification and is a CFA charterholder.
