Julien Dirand, Managing Director, Mid-Market Companies and Venture Capital, provides leadership for the entire transaction management and portfolio monitoring process associated with private equity investments in mid-market companies in Québec, as well as venture capital investments. He serves as a catalyst in developing the strategy and opportunity pool for Québec, in collaboration with all business units in the organization.
Mr. Dirand joined CDPQ in 2014, first, in the role of Director, Private Equity, before being appointed Senior Director, Private Equity. He then held the positions of Managing Director, Private Equity and Managing Director, Private Mid-Market Companies, Québec. Prior to joining the organization, he was Vice-President, Corporate Finance, at KPMG. He previously held positions as an Analyst at Fondaction and Laurentian Bank. Over the course of his career, he has developed strong expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, expansion strategy and corporate governance. He also stands out for his unifying leadership, notably by piloting the Ambition ME initiative.
Mr. Dirand holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke. He is a CFA Charterholder. In recent years, he served on several Boards and currently sits on the Board of Metro Supply Chain.
